Biography

Lisset Mendoza is a Mexican-American filmmaker from Southern California who has somehow turned family conversations, professional people-watching, and the occasional identity crisis into a filmmaking career.

Over the past decade, she has written, directed, and produced more than a dozen narrative projects, including short films, a web series, and independent features. Her work includes Las Flores, A Little Journey, The Walkers, and A Ranch Musical, with projects earning awards, recognition, and selections across multiple film festivals, including the AFI, HFF, NBFF and ASCF Film Festival.

Her career has taken her around the world and included work and collaborations with organizations such as Kodak, Company 3, Film Independent, and Breakwater Studios. Alongside filmmaking, Lisset brings more than 10 years of professional experience in video production, marketing, and digital storytelling. She has also built a growing online community around independent and Latino cinema, developing an audience of more than 31,000 followers and using social media to connect emerging films with audiences beyond the traditional festival circuit.

Whether behind the camera or online, her work tends to come back to the same place: family, culture, identity, and figuring out how to turn all of that chaos into something worth watching.
