- John has written two full length plays entitled 'The Agency' and 'The Egoist'; the latter of which was nominated for 'Best Newcomer' and 'Best Drama' at The Greater Manchester Fringe Festival 2018.
- John's Dad Dennis is a former professional footballer, having won the FA Cup with Sunderland in 1973, the League Cup with Manchester City in 1976, and played for the New York Cosmos between 1978 and 1980 and the English National team.
- John formerly studied and worked in several law firms in Manchester, England, qualifying in March 2014.
- John has travelled extensively around America; most recently a work trip to New York in April 2019, a full road trip East to West in 2011 and worked as a Camp Counsellor at Camp Starlight in Pennsylvania in the Summers of 2006 and 2007.
