Ian Huntley was born on January 31, 1974 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England, UK. He was married to Claire Evans. He died on March 7, 2026 in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England, UK.

School caretaker who killed 10-year old girls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in Soham, Cambridgeshire, on 4 August 2002.

His girlfriend Maxine Carr gave him a false alibi but turned on him in the witness box.

In 2018, he appeared to confess to deliberately killing Jessica to stop her from raising the alarm. He still continued to insist that Holly's death was an accident.

His mother, who is understood to be the only relative to have visited him in hospital before his death.

Jailed for life in December 2003 after killing Holly and Jessica in his home in Cambridgeshire, before dumping their bodies in a ditch near RAF Lakenheath.
