Victor Kirksey-Brown (They/Them) can remember that from a young age they loved playing basketball. They'd ball all day outside with friends, and alone on their Scottie Pippen hoop in their basement. They don't have memory of what happened in-between (they've got some idea) but there's a hard cut to them being inside watching TV, and obsessed with film. Maybe it's their OCD, maybe it's their trauma, maybe it's their Aquarius Sun, Scorpio Moon, and Libra Rising - but they found themselves immensely attached to and compelled by the characters on screen. About the music of a scene. About the intimacy of a shot.
In this day and age it's very popular to talk about binging shows, but Victor was doing it when it wasn't a convenience. On a Thursday night when there was The O.C, Smallville, Supernatural, Scrubs, E.R., (and various other shows) to watch - they had 4 TVs set up with VCRs to tape one show while they watched another. IF THEY MISSED AN EPISODE THERE WAS NO WAY TO SEE IT UNTIL A RERUN CAME ON OR THEY BOUGHT THE BOX SET. All this is to say that they love film. It's a part of their DNA. And Digimon, Xena, and Boy Meets World heavily instilled in them that adventure, teamwork, friendship, empathy, and understanding are important parts of what makes life worth living. Victor is a pack animal, and the collaboration of film lights their soul ablaze.
They also know that people would be mad if they don't include that they're a published author of a YA novel, Succorance. Writing is a huge passion, and being brief and succinct clearly is not.
