Daniel Finkelman is a filmmaker and producer whose work focuses on large scale narrative storytelling grounded in truth, emotional depth, and cultural relevance. He is the creator, producer, and co-director of the acclaimed HBO Max and YES TV anthology series One Day in October, which dramatizes survivor stories from the October 7 attacks and has garnered international attention for its authenticity and emotional impact.
His producing credits include The Performance, based on a story by Arthur Miller and starring Jeremy Piven and Robert Carlyle; the A24 Independent Spirit Award nominated Menashe, which premiered at Sundance and Berlinale; The Vigil, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and SXSW; and the Ukrainian war drama Our House Is on Fire.
Most recently, he produced The Wedding Entertainer, directed by Gidi Dar and selected for the 2026 Tribeca Festival, and Here I'm Alive, directed by Joshua Z. Weinstein, which premiered in competition at the 2026 Tribeca Festival and was awarded the Jury Prize for Best U.S. Narrative Feature.
