Biography

David Jovanović is a Serbian writer, director, and producer who graduated in Film Directing from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade. Where the Road Leads (2023), produced by David and directed by Nina Ognjanović, won the Audience Award and a Grand Jury Honorable Mention at Slamdance 2023, and later screened at multiple international film festivals, including Mumbai and Cottbus, becoming the most awarded Serbian film of 2023.

Sun Never Again, co-written and directed by David, had its world premiere in the First Feature Competition section of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (POFF) in November 2024. The film is Serbia’s Oscar entry for Best International Feature Film for the 98th Academy Awards.

He is producing the latest film by Miša Radivojević.
