James Everingham attends the 2025 Hollywood Music in Media Awards

Biography

James Everingham

Biography

  • James Everingham is a British film composer and producer who discovered a passion for both music and film in his early years. Instead of a formal musical education, James developed his signature sound through years of playing piano and percussion by ear, combined with a love for music technology.

At 17, James recorded his first feature-length film score with an orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. Shortly after, James was commissioned for the Amazon Prime series Grand Prix Driver, which led to scoring Motorsport Network's first feature-length film, Heroes. In 2018, James moved to Los Angeles where he worked with Hans Zimmer's composer collective Bleeding Fingers Music until 2025.

While at Bleeding Fingers Music, James' work included Minecraft, Super Bowl LVI, and Encounter Dinosaurs - an interactive experience developed by Apple that launched with the Vision Pro. In 2023, James scored the JJ Abrams produced IMAX film The Blue Angels, which reached #8 in the domestic box office and #1 on Prime Video. In 2024, James composed the score for Sky Cinema's Robin and the Hoods, which was directed by Phil Hawkins and produced by Claudia Bleumhuber for Silver Reel and Matt Williams for Future Artists Entertainment. James has also worked on a number of major productions alongside Hans Zimmer, most notably BBC's Frozen Planet II which featured Norwegian singer AURORA, and BBC's critically acclaimed crime-drama Virdee. Both have cemented his reputation for working on high-profile, innovative productions.

Most recently, James co-scored the 9-part Apple TV+ series Chief of War with Hans Zimmer. Chief of War is produced by Fifth Season, Jason Momoa and Thomas Pa'a Sibbett are the co-creators and executive producers, and Doug Jung is the showrunner.
