Sharofat Arabova is a filmmaker of Tajik, Arabic, and Uyghur descent, based in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. She holds degrees in Cultural Studies from the Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University and Film Direction from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII, Pune). A member of the Filmmakers' Union of Tajikistan, she also holds a PhD and specializes in the history of Tajik and Soviet cinema, combining her creative work with academic research.
