  • Mostafa Keshvari is an Iranian-born Canadian director, writer, and producer based in Vancouver and Los Angeles. He is a member of the DGC, WGC, CMPA, and FCA, and was nominated for the Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards for his artistic contributions.

    Career

    After leaving a career in banking, Keshvari received a scholarship to attend Vancouver Film School. He gained international recognition when his short film I Ran was selected for the Cannes Short Film Corner.

    His feature debut, Unmasked, received 28 international awards and 14 nominations.

    Selected Films

    His second feature, Corona, was recognized by The New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, The Guardian, and BBC as the world’s first COVID-19 feature film. It also earned him a Best Director award at the Oscar-qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival.

    His third feature, Colorblind, was created in collaboration with color-vision scientists and uses visual perception to explore racism.

    His latest film, Blind Owl, is the first English-language adaptation of Sadegh Hedayat’s acclaimed novel.

    Creative Vision

    Influenced by his background in poetry and painting, Keshvari creates socially conscious films exploring injustice, identity, and humanitarian issues, often through compelling female protagonists.

    He is also the founder of the BC Film Minorities for Film and TV Society, which promotes diversity and inclusion across the screen industry.
