- Making music has always really been a solitary process for me. It was really hard at the beginning. It all seemed extraordinary to me that it was happening, and that anyone would want to come and be a part of what I was doing: to hear me or watch me perform. Except that I didn't actually perform - I would go onstage and play. That was all I could do: just get on the stage and try to get into it. Except that I wouldn't engage very much, and I wouldn't say anything to audiences. I was just more of a bit of a thug who stood there staring at my hands as I played the songs.
