Biography

Erik has a lifelong passion for special effects, particularly pyrotechnics and weapons effects. At the age of 18, he secured a position with a leading Swedish special effects company, contributing to the ammunition and weapon design for Jan Troell's "Il Capitano." During his time there, he also developed innovative, silent, on-cue falling object effects using practical solutions. As a consultant, Erik has provided expertise on numerous productions requiring complex close-proximity effects, including those involving firearms, knives, and bows. While he has extensive experience as a pyrotechnician for live shows and military reenactments, he returned to film special effects in 2017 with the TV series "Hitlers Svenska Soldater." Erik is the owner of Special Weapons Group, a company specializing in pyrotechnics, high explosives, controlled demolition (for film), and prop weapons. He holds licenses for all categories of pyrotechnics and a Class A license for high explosives.
