Streaming Stars, Then and Now

American actor, writer, and director Garrett Wareing was born in College Station, Texas. He is known for "Ransom Canyon" (2025), "The Long Walk" (2025), and "God is a Bullet" (2023).

He lead in his debut film "Boychoir" (2014) opposite Oscar winners Dustin Hoffman and Kathy Bates. He then went on to star in blockbuster "Independence Day: Resurgence" (2016) and followed up with "Perfect" (2018) presented by Steven Soderbergh.

Wareing also starred in Netflix's hit show "Manifest" (2020-2023) as well as his written and directorial debut "The Difficulties of Being Drunk Alone" (2022).

In the movie Boychoir, Garrett&#39;s sister, actress Mackenzie Wareing, plays the role of his half-sister Stephanie and his father, Rooter, plays the role of the priest at the funeral.

His best friend since age two is Fischer Wunsch, son of former LA Dodger pitcher Kelly Wunsch.

Broke his arm in three places days before filming began in Texas for Boychoir. He used different colored splints for wardrobe continuity and had the break cast after filming wrapped.

Received the Creative Coalition Spotlight Initiative Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, shared with Dustin Hoffman, Kathy Bates, Eddie Izzard, Josh Lucas, Debra Winger &amp; Kevin McHale for Boychoir.
