Kurt Emhoff

Kurt has been representing clients in both sports and entertainment transactions and litigation for over 25 years - specializing in the sport of boxing. He represents individual boxers, promoters, managers, and boxing-related apparel and film companies in the US and around the world. Kurt's clients have included world champions Winky Wright, Cory Spinks, Paulie Malignaggi, Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin, Luis Collazo, Sam Soliman, Kermit Cintron, Derrick Gainer, Travis Simms, and Terronn Millett. In all, he has worked with 13 current or former world champions and obtained world title opportunities for many other boxers. He has also negotiated endorsements with multinational corporations as well as broadcasting and license deals with television networks on behalf of his boxer and promoter clients. On the academic front, he guest-lectured on the practice of law in the boxing industry at Boston University School of Law, as well as serving on a New York County Lawyers Association expert panel discussing the future of Mixed Martial Arts in the state of New York.

In addition to practicing law, he has also been a sportswriter for many years and a frequent contributor of articles to the online publications ESPN.com, sportingnews.com, maxboxing.com, and secondsout.com. He was a member of the Boxing Writers Association of America and on the voting committee of the Boxing Hall of Fame. Before he became a lawyer, he demonstrated his knowledge of the sport by winning a national boxing trivia contest, sponsored by Ring Magazine, while still in college.
