  • Alexander Haessner is a German cinematographer, photographer, and director based out of Los Angeles.

    His expertise is creating highly stylized and visually compelling branded content, narrative shorts, music videos, fashion films, documentaries, TV shows and feature films.

    Haessner's narrative work include the Feature-length Docu-Drama Miss Lillian: More Than a President's Mother (2021), the first Season of the TV show Heaux Phase (2023), and four episodes of the Docu-Series Together Alone (2020) for which he has won several Best Cinematography Awards.

    Alex has worked as a High-Speed technician on the 2001 film Ali (2001) starring Will Smith, directed by Michael Mann, and shot by Emmanuel Lubezki. Other work as a High Speed technician include "HP Anthem" shot by Darius Khondji, and the IMAX film Top Speed (2003) shot by Greg MacGillivray. As a camera operator, he has worked with Janusz Kaminski shooting Making a Scene (2013) and Steven Fierberg on 9 Kisses (2014) for the New York Times Magazine. Other notable work as an operator is a L'Oreal commercial with Beyoncé and Milla Jovovich shot by Harris Savides.

    After studying art and painting at the Kunst Akademie in Mannheim, Germany, Alexander Haessner moved to Santa Barbara, CA, to study and graduate from the renowned Brooks Institute of Photography.
