Eugene Ramirez Mapondera

Born in Harare, Zimbabwe Eugene Ramirez Mapondera is a storyboard and concept artist working under Sigma Digital Studio. He is a self taught artist born to upper middle class parents and raised in Vainona, Borrowdale, a neighborhood in Zimbabwe's capital city Harare. After attending high school in the small neighborhood of Vainona he attended university at the University of Zimbabwe where he graduated with a bachelors degree in political Science with Honors. While studying he also worked as a freelance designer, animator and storyboard artist for surrounding advertising agencies in Harare. It was during this time that his reputation as a Zimbabwean digital artist, animator and illustrator grew. After his graduation in 2010 he started working for different advertising agencies, full time as a multimedia designer. By 2012 he his profile had extended outside the boundaries of his country through his online portfolio and he captured the attention of indie film makers in Australia, Europe and the United states. Since then he has solidified his position as an animator, Illustrator and Storyboard artist under Sigma Digital studio.
