Biography

Atlas Adams is an Australian actor and award winning improviser. He is known for his height (6'4), deep voice, and breaking the world record for longest improvised play.

Early Life - Atlas was born and raised in Sydney, Australia.

Stage - In 2010, Atlas was cast as the titular character in Science Revue's "Sherlock Ohms". Atlas directed a sellout season of "Buffy the Musical" and was requested to write/direct plays for Short+Sweet Sydney. "The Matrix in Ten Minutes" came first for People's Choice, "Harry Potter in Ten Minutes" second for People's and Judge's Choice, and "Scene 122" won Judge's Choice, for their respective weeks. From 2014-2016, Atlas toured his solo shows "Australian Psycho" and "Over & Over". SLAP Arts licensed "Over & Over" for school performances. During this time, Atlas signed with Applause Entertainment as an MC. He hosted The AdNews Agency of The Year Awards as Derek Zoolander, the Pole Candy Championships, and has been a recurring live MC for TAL, CommBank and Google.

Improv - Atlas trained as an improviser under National Improv Champion Steen Raskopoulos, and travelled to Canada to study improv under Keith Johnstone (inventor of Theatresports). In 2012, he won the Sydney "Scriptless Cup", and Adelaide's interstate Theatresports competition "Clash of the Titans". In 2013, Atlas directed and produced "The Bunker" which broke the record for the world's longest improvised play (100 hours). In 2014, Atlas beat the Cranston Cup record for longest streak of scenes (4) with a 'perfect' score and performed in Amnesty International's Theatresports Fundraiser with Andrew O'Keefe (Deal or No Deal). In 2015, Atlas won the "Playmates" cup, and became the first person to win two Golden Goose Awards, Improv Australia's annual award for the best new improv show.

Screen - In 2012, Atlas supported in "The Avery" which won Best Film at the Billboard Film Festival. Over 2013, Atlas studied "Advanced Screen Acting" at NIDA under Les Chantery, and "The Core" full time at ACTT. After completing training he secured his first TVC "Sir David Martin Foundation", and hosted a series of advertisements as the Mad Hatter for the University of Sydney. Atlas starred in a music video for Wild Honey's "Truth" which won 2nd place in Captured Australia. He signed with Encompass Management in 2014. Encompass placed him in TVCs for McDonald's "Monopoly" campaign and Tic Tacs "It's The Little Things". Atlas became the face of AAMI in a series of commercials ("The Modern Man"). He starred as Clint Pettifrock on Foxtel's "Pete Boone, Private Eye", then played a recurring role on SBS' "The Weekend Shift" alongside Helmut Bakaitis (The Matrix) and Lee Lin Chin (SBS World News). After Encompass' closure in 2016, Atlas became the face of UWS' "Wellbeing" series, and behind the scenes host of ABC's "Wam Bam Thank You Ma'am". Atlas signed with Sue Morris at Duke Actors Management, and became the face of Pepsi's 2017 "Max Your Summer" campaign, Telstra's "Nighthawk" campaign, PetBarn's "Just Ask" and Shell's international "Solar Farm" TVCs. He appeared in "Rake", "The Good Cop", "The Unlisted", and three seasons of "Deadly Women". In 2020, Atlas is Young Stuart in "Stuart X" a short film narrated by Cate Blanchett (The Lord of the Rings), and is the villain in US-NZ thriller feature film "Frozen Moments".
