He was awarded the CM (Member of the Order of Canada) on November 21, 2013 and invested on November 21, 2014 from the Canadian Governor General in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. He was awarded for transforming the family business into one of the top Quebec telecommunications companies and for supporting a wide range of community organizations. He was recognized as a bold and visionary businessman, He is also admired for his community involvement. As the president and CEO of COGECO, he has turned the family business into a Quebec telecommunications flagship. He has also played an active role within the industry, notably as the vice-president of the Television Council of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. In addition, for over 30 years, his volunteer and philanthropic activities, as well as his participation in numerous fund-raising campaigns, have benefited a wide range of charitable, educational and cultural organizations.
