Biography

Nadeem H. Mandviwalla comes from an established business family of Karachi, Pakistan. The Mandviwalla family established interests in diversified businesses in Pakistan since 1857 after migrating to Karachi. The business interests in Pakistan include companies in the automobile sector, manufacturing, construction, real estate and entertainment.

Nadeem H. Mandviwalla's passion and interest in the entertainment industry was instigated by The Nishat Cinema, Karachi which he joined in 1980 and managed from 1987 after his father's demise till the burning of the cinema in 2012. Even though the cinema and film industry was deteriorating sprightly in the early 2000, Nishat Cinema along with a handful of cinemas in Karachi continued to provide quality films in a comfortable family environment. Given the industry recession and challenges Nadeem Mandviwalla remained in the Entertainment industry, and over time has established himself as one of its leading figures.

Primarily being an exhibitor (Cinema Owner) he has over the years become one of the leading film importer and distributor in Pakistan, and has to his credit the production of two films of Pakistani origin, which he co-produced. Given his love and passion for the industry, Mr. Mandviwalla has fought hard to change the state of affairs and improve regulations which became instrumental in paving the way for the industry to move ahead and has many such initiatives to his credit. He has consequently been pivotal in placing the cinema industry in a position where it can once again become a promising and lucrative business.
