Troy Sandford is an action performer, filmmaker, and martial artist based in Beijing, China. Over the years, he has worked across acting, action design, directing, content creation, and independent film production while quietly building long-term relationships within the international film community.
He is known for appearing in films such as Man of Tai Chi and Ip Man 4: The Finale alongside Donnie Yen. Outside of screen work, Troy has spent much of his life training martial arts, teaching performers, and studying movement through both combat and dance.
For nearly two decades, he has led Troy’s Team in China, helping support and develop performers pursuing careers in film and action entertainment. His work has also included producing branded content and collaborating with creatives from different countries and backgrounds.
Troy approaches filmmaking with the mindset of a lifelong student. He values discipline, humility, teamwork, and continual learning above recognition, and much of his time is spent training, travelling, creating, and learning from others throughout Asia.
He believes the creative process is never finished and that there is always more to learn.
