Biography

Luciano de Azevedo is a Brazilian director, colorist, and post-production artist from Juiz de Fora (MG), currently based in São Paulo. He is best known for his work in independent and genre cinema, with a strong focus on psychological horror, experimental visuals, and narrative depth.

As a filmmaker, Luciano wrote and directed a range of shorts and features that explore visceral, dreamlike, and often disturbing emotional territories. His filmography includes:

As a colorist and post-production lead, Luciano worked on Cabrito (2020), which was selected for over 50 international film festivals, including SITGES (Spain), Macabro (Mexico), and Grossmann (Slovenia), and won more than 20 awards - including Best National Film at FANTASPOA (Brazil). The film was distributed on Amazon Prime and Apple TV.

He also led the post-production of the short film Sol de Inverno, 17:57 (2021), premiered at the 17th Athens Digital Arts Festival (Greece), the experimental mid-length Released From Love (2018), and the TV documentary Last Touch.

His creative signature blends technical precision with moody, expressionist color palettes - often blurring the line between realism and stylization. Luciano is a member of the Brazilian Association of Cinematography (ABC), the Independent Colourists Guild (ICG), and the Colorist Society International (CSI).

In addition to his cinematic work, he is the co-founder of Blackflag Post, a São Paulo-based studio delivering high-end color grading, VFX, editing, and integrated post-production services for films, music videos, and advertising.
