- Galustov is an Emmy-winning Director of Photography with 25 years of experience in film, television and media. Having worked in nearly every role on large and small productions, Mikhail brings a rare skillset, thorough understanding of the process and extensive experience in multi-camera shoots in challenging and remote environments. He shoots documentaries, branded films, corporate and commercial assignments across the Middle East, South Asia and Europe.
Starting as a writer at a local newspaper in a suburb of Moscow when he was 16, Mikhail later worked as a newspaper and magazine photographer in Russia and internationally on commissions for The New Yorker, Harpers, The Rolling Stone, TIME, The New York Times and GQ. He started shooting documentaries on a trip to Afghanistan in 2010. In the years that followed, he filmed and produced projects throughout Central Asia and the Middle East for clients ranging from National Geographic, Discovery Channel, HBO, and VICE Studios to MTV, BBC, CNN, Médecins Sans Frontières, and Human Rights Watch.
Mikhail is based in Paris, France.
