Daniel Guérin was born on 19 May 1904 in Paris, France. He was married to Maria Fortwängler. He died on 14 April 1988 in Suresnes, Hauts-de-Seine, France.
Historian specialist of anarchism and of homosexuality and author, he is the son of art critic Marcel Guérin (1873-1948) and the father of translator and author Anne Guérin (1936-2017).
