Biography

Involved in two military uprisings against then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo -- the Oakwood mutiny of 2003 and the Manila Peninsula siege in 2007.

Wife Arlene G. Orejana was also a former military official. She was two years his junior at the Philippine Military Academy, graduating in 1997.

A graduate of the Philippine Military Academy, where he graduated cum laude in 1995 with a Naval Systems Engineering degree. He joined the Philippine Navy, achieving his highest rank of Lieutenant Senior Grade.

He was detained for nearly seven and a half years for his involvement in the Oakwood mutiny of 2003 and later in the Manila Peninsula siege in 2007. He was temporary released in 2010 and was granted amnesty by then Noynoy Aquino III and all the charges were dismissed.

While under detention, the court repeatedly rejected his appeal that he would be allow to physically attend the session at the Philippine Senate. He was only allowed to attend the session by video conference.
