Born Daniel Patrick Smith in the small beach town of Ocean City, New Jersey, Dan moved to New York to pursue acting at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. While there he studied musical theater at CAP21, acting at Playwrights Horizons Theater School, film acting at Stonestreet Film & TV, and Shakespeare in performance at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. In 2015 and 2016, he starred as Buddy the Elf in the National Tour of "Elf the Musical."
