Biography

Mark Aston - Writer/Director. In 1987 Mark moved from a sleepy Cambridgeshire village to London to become an overnight rock sensation. Ten years later his band Addict signed to Richard Branson's V2 Records. He toured the world as the singer/writer and creative force behind the band. After performing alongside the likes of Emmy Lou Harris, Radiohead, Foo Fighters and many others the band where dropped in 2002.

A solo career followed along side a foray into writing fiction for short films, TV and pilots. In 2006 he produced "The Postman" that made special selection at the Raindance film festival and provided the soundtrack for "Tracing Cowboys" in 2007.

Whilst navigating various day jobs he continued his passion for the written word and film by writing a number of shorts for others.

After a little gentle persuasion from collaborator and producer Alexander Preston he finally decided to get behind the camera to direct the self penned "An unfortunate shortage of pets" in May 2013. Finding himself for the first time, truly in his element it was quickly followed by "Pathfinders" in September 2013.

With DP Gary Shaw (Moon, Ill Manors) and Rosalind Halstead (Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Mrs Henderson Presents) in the lead, Pathfinders charts the course of a benevolent being who crashes to earth in a meteorite before re-enacting a ritual that has been played out across the millennia.

It is a prelude to the world of "Meteorites", the feature film that Mark wrote and will direct in the coming months.
