Biography

Native San Francisco Bay Arean, Cyl'Nita, née Sylvia Danita Young, was born in Oakland, California, on June 7, 1960. She won three (3) Queen contests before she was 5-years old, and was given the nickname "Queenie." She lived up to that nickname and was crowned Queen in yet another contest/pageant in 1993 at the age of 33.

In Junior High School in the mid '70's, her teachers noticed that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she consider Journalism as a career choice. She didn't do it, but has continued to write stories, poems, articles, etc... She took an Acting Class at Film Acting Bay Area (FABA), just to check it out. She used her own original works as monologues. The Founder/Director of FABA and the other instructors, felt that her strong writing skills and active imagination contribute to her acting skills, especially improvisation. She ended up progressing through the advanced classes.

Still emerging as an Actress, she's working on writing & producing the screenplay in her head. She is the creator, writer and Executive Producer of Best Friend Blues, the web series. Being a Gemini, look for her on BOTH sides of the camera.
