- Maria Margaret Wilson grew up in the small town of Swedesboro, New Jersey. Entering the theatre world early on, Maria attended the Southern New Jersey Academy of Performing Arts for high school, then later got her BA in Theatre from Rowan University, where she received the highest honor for an undergrad, "The Excellence in Theatre" award. Shortly after, she realized her passion for sketch comedy and ventured to Chicago to study the craft. There, she was able to perform at various venues, including the Victory Gardens Theater, and graduated from the famed Second City's Conservatory Program for improv and sketch comedy. With all of this training under her belt, she felt it was time to finally make the big move to Los Angeles and transition into film and television to write, produce, and act in projects with a strong fem voice. Since then, she became a Women In Film mentee and has directed, written and produced several projects; two original stage shows in the Hollywood Fringe Festival, one of which won the Encore Producer's Award, several new media projects, a short film "Midland" addressing grief, loss and spirituality, and now a dark comedy TV pilot inspired by her mother's unconventional journey surviving breast cancer in the early '90s.
