Biography

Josh McCausland is an American director and music composer from Cincinnati, Ohio. Josh is best known for his short films Chaos Theory and Anamnesis.

McCausland was born in Kettering, Ohio to James McCausland and Debbie Naylor. He attended and graduated from Monroe High School in 2011. Josh played soccer during his time in high school and followed a scholarship to Nashville, Tennessee where he attended Cumberland University and studied art. He started his own company iQ flicks his sophomore year in college (2014) after leaving his contract videographer job as Sony Tree Studios in Nashville. He self-produced a multitude of short films, most notably, Wake Up.

McCausland graduated in 2015 and moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee til 2019. He began a full time job as a Directory of Photography for The Vincit Group producing in-house content for 4 years while also producing short film work on the side.

In 2019 he moved to Chicago and began a new role at Relativity (a Chicago based tech company) as a Director of Photography. He traveled the world producing content for the international brand, creating everything from commercials to keynote videos. He also continued to produce short films and compose music for films on the side.

He now resides in Brooklyn, New York. Josh started composing music in 2017 and release his first musical score debut with his short film, Chaos Theory that won two awards for Best Musical Score. In 2018 He self produced his multi-award willing short film, Anamnesis. Since it's release, Josh's music has reached millions of streams on music streaming services. He continues to direct, produce, write and compose as of the time of writing.
