  • Singer Robyn Adele Anderson was born on February 19, 1989 in Albany, New York. Of mixed Dutch, German, Scottish, English, and Native American descent, Robyn grew up in Glenmont, New York. Anderson played clarinet in the Wind Ensemble and sang in several choral groups while a student at Bethlehem Central High School in Delmar, New York. Robyn graduated from Binghamton University with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Political Science and Arabic in 2011. Moreover, Anderson studied at the University of Seville in Spain for a semester in 2009 and became a study-abroad peer advisor. Robyn's academic achievements led to her winning the Israel J. Rosefksy Language and Culture Scholarship as well as the Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence in 2011. In addition, Robyn was selected as the intern for Binghamton's Planet Library project.

    Anderson worked for the non-profit organization ANSOB Center for Refugees in Astoria, New York from 2012 to 2015. Robyn first collaborated with Scott Bradlee and his music collective group Postmodern Jukebox on a cover of "Thrift Shop" in February, 2013. The music video for "Thrift Shop" received one million views on YouTube within its first week and was instrumental in establishing Postmodern Jukebox's considerable popularity on YouTube. Anderson not only has gone on to do additional collaborations with Postmodern Jukebox on various covers of popular contemporary hit songs in a past period style, but also subsequently launched her own YouTube channel as well has done solo shows and served as an occasional guest vocalist for the musical duo the Skivvies.
