Biography

Raised in Sacramento, California, D.J. is a multi-hyphenate filmmaker, writer, director, producer, and actor. A proud African American and Italian artist, he is drawn to creating grounded, character-driven stories that explore the complexities of the human condition. As an actor, D.J. is particularly drawn to transformative roles that challenge him to step far outside of his own experiences and perspective, embracing characters who are vastly different from himself and pushing the boundaries of his craft.

Attended 5 different High Schools.

The Hale family has an impressive athletic pedigree. Within D.J. Hale's generation there have been four NCAA Division 1 student athletes. Randy Hale (Northern Arizona), Randyn Hale (Univ. San Diego), Mikel Watson (Wyoming, Utah State), and Devin Watson (Univ. San Francisco, San Diego State).

Failed his Theater class in the 12th grade.

Favorite NFL team is the Dallas Cowboys.
