Biography

Jameson is a self-taught freelance filmmaker, from the island of Malta, with over 15 years of experience in the field of Video Editing and Directing. As a self-motivated empathetic person, Jameson appreciates and is passionate about the unique narrative abilities various genres possess. This makes him willing to experiment, take on challenges that require him to step out of his comfort zone, take initiative for further research and continuously develop his craft. His interests include psychology, photography, education, soundtrack music, video games, anime, and gardening.

He started working as a Video Editor with a TV station, where he spent 7 years before moving on to freelancing. His work spans between local and foreign companies.

In 2013, Jameson was among the candidates selected to follow the StoryWorks course delivered by world-class senior tutors David Howard, Martin Daniel and Mary Kate O' Flanagan. In the same year, he produced and directed his own TV series entitled 'Maskra' which aired from October 2013 till March 2014. Having directed and edited his short film 'Hostage', he won the Best Director Award at the Malta Short Film Festival, 2015.

Just before turning 30, Jameson directed his debut feature film '20,000 Reasons' in Summer 2015 from an initiative of Malta Film Commission in association with Film London Microwave and financed by ESF. The production has been released locally and was well received in 2016. The following year, '20,000 Reasons' was travelling and being screened in festivals around the world including Toronto, Chicago and Sydney among others.

In his latest venture, Jameson directed his first theatre production with Stagun Teatru Malti and The Manoel Theatre titled 'Igri Nehles'.

Today Jameson directs and edits diverse productions, both locally and foreign, ranging from commercials and corporate videos to music videos and TV series. His mantra is to incorporate the concept of storytelling in every project he is engaged in.
