Biography

Rakesh Adiga is a versatile Kannada actor, rapper, director, and television personality who has made his mark in Sandalwood through a mix of lead roles, villain characters, and creative contributions across films and reality shows. A native of Bengaluru, he attended high school at Janaseva Vidya Kendra residential school and gained early recognition as the first Kannada rapper by forming the hip-hop band Urban Lads, produced by Suraj Sarja, blending music with his acting ambitions.

He launched his film career with the 2009 debut Jhossh, playing Rocky and earning the Suvarna Film Award for Best Debut Actor as the movie became one of the year's top grossers. Following a brief hiatus, he starred in romantic dramas like Mandahasa and Manasology, then shifted to antagonistic roles in Alemari and Parie, showcasing his range while appearing in over a dozen projects including Nanda Gokula, Karnataka Ayodhyapuram, Kotigond Love Story, Preethiyinda, Dove, and Mandya to Mumbai.

Adiga expanded into direction with Night Out in 2019 and lent his voice as a playback singer in Dosti, while recent works like Maryade Prashne, Naanu Matthu Gunda 2, and the delayed Notorious keep him active on screen. His television stint as runner-up in Bigg Boss Kannada season 9, along with Best Captain honors, boosted his popularity, cementing his status as a multifaceted entertainer in the Kannada entertainment scene.
