Dean Leon Anderson is a writer-director whose work explores themes of family, identity and connection through character-driven drama. His films have screened at BAFTA and Oscar-qualifying festivals internationally, including Encounters Film Festival, St. Louis International Film Festival, London Short Film Festival, Urbanworld Film Festival, and at the BFI Southbank.
His short film The Mediator, starring Daniel Portman (Game of Thrones), premiered at the Oscar-qualifying St. Louis International Film Festival and Santa Fe International Film Festival. His earlier short Class 15, starring Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dune, Top Boy), premiered at Encounters Film Festival and Urbanworld Film Festival and was distributed by Omeleto.
Dean has received support from the Film & TV Charity through the Reel Impact Fund and was selected for the Momentum program supported by Sony Pictures and Channel 4. He is a BAFTA Connect member in the UK and US.
His feature project Jasper is in development with the British Film Institute.
