S.C.V. Taylor

Biography

S.C.V. Taylor

Mini bio

  • S.C.V. TAYLOR is an award-winning independent producer with a penchant for creating a sandbox for visionary filmmakers to play in. He co-wrote and produced the military action thriller "Counter Strike" starring Michael Jai White, Jeri Ryan and Glenn Moreshower coming in 2027. Upcoming projects include "Heather's Party" a high school reunion turned political thriller from writer-director Dorie Barton. Taylor and Barton's previous collaboration "Welcome to the Show" won Best Feature 2021 at the Big Apple Film Festival.

Taylor is also an avid screenwriter and is developing a Hitchcock thriller and sci-fi horror in the coming year. During the 2020 hiatus, Taylor wrote and published the comic book series "Summer of '74" the unauthorized "true" story how "Star Wars" really began at a desert truck stop in Barstow California in 1974.

Taylor inherited his artistic ambition from his pioneering great-grandfather, Stanner E. V. Taylor, a pioneering writer-director in the Silent Era with over 100 film credits. The senior Taylor is said to be the first American director with on-screen credit in 1910 and the first screenwriter to write on retainer. Inspired by Georges Méliès, he created one of the first quadruple exposure visual effects shots in 1913 for Monopol Films’ "The Dead Secret" with Marion Leonard acting against herself in a dual role. He also invented the light saber in 1914.
