In 2009 she was diagnosed with stage I breast cancer in her right breast. She chosen to a bilateral mastectomy even though her left breast was cancer-free - just to be safe - and chemotherapy and eventually beat cancer. 6 years later, on April 3, 2015, she discovered the lump while watching a movie with her husband. She underwent a biopsy on April 20 to determine if the lump was cancerous. On April 23 her surgeon confirmed to her that her cancer is back.
