Corey Stanton is a Canadian director and writer known for the feature films Robbery (2018) and Trader (2022).
Stanton made his feature directorial debut with Robbery, a crime drama that won Best Canadian Feature at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival and Best First Canadian Feature at the Victoria Film Festival. He followed it with the psychological thriller Trader, which won awards at multiple festivals and is distributed by XYZ Films and Elevation Pictures.
Before becoming a filmmaker, Stanton earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Ottawa. His medical background has informed his documentary work, including The Match (2017) and Patient People (2020), the latter produced through the CBC Creative Relief Fund during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to writing and directing, Stanton has served as producer, editor and composer on his films.
