Biography

Whitney Williams

Overview

  • Height
    5′ 9″ (1.75 m)

Biography

  • Born in Los Angeles, Whitney Williams always had a vivid imagination and spent a great deal of her formative years living in self-created worlds of make-believe. A playful and creative young girl, she loved to dance and act. When she was young, her parents divorced and her mother moved out of state, so Whitney would leave town each summer to spend it with her. As her mother was a skilled equestrian, Whitney developed a love for horses and went on to compete in horse shows for several years.

Whitney attended high school at The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, CA, where she was highly involved in the arts, focusing on dancing and drama. Outside of theater, her favorite subject to study was English as she has always loved words and language. At Buckley, she was fortunate to have great arts teachers and credits her drama and dance teachers with being highly influential to her. She was also prop master and assistant director for a couple school plays and she managed the school volleyball team for a season.

After graduation, Whitney studied for a year at the University of San Francisco, but after a year decided it wasn't the right fit for her. Wanderlust prevailed, and though LA remained her base, she ventured out to explore the world. Perennially curious and adventure-seeking, one of her most memorable travel experiences was traveling to Europe with one of her best friends, backpacking and staying in hostels. She spent a few months living in Paris, one of her favorite cities.

In her early twenties, Williams moved to New York and enrolled in Parsons: The New School for Design to study fashion design and film, two areas she loved and wanted to pursue. It was there where she met one of her best friends, and with whom she soon started a clothing company, Alexander Berardi, which she and two friends ran out of an apartment on the Upper East Side. Together, they produced several New York Fashion Week events, which she considers one of her greatest professional accomplishments. The company's designs became a staple on red carpets, worn often by celebrities including Emily Blunt, Jane Krakowski, and Paris Hilton.

Whitney then relocated back to LA to pursue a career as a professional actor. She began studying with several well-respected coaches and continues to strengthen her craft. She has appeared in films, commercials and web series.

Williams considers social consciousness essential to her well being, and has throughout her adult life allied with several non-profit organizations. Her primary concerns are global access to clean water and helping make sure homeless and low income families are fed and sheltered.

In her very precious spare leisure time, Whitney enjoys yoga, traveling, watching movies, and as a self-confessed "foodie," she enjoys experiencing new restaurants.
