Deepu Pradeep is an Indian screenwriter and author working primarily in the Malayalam film industry. He began his creative journey as a blogger in 2007, gaining recognition for his humour-driven storytelling and sharply observed characters rooted in everyday Kerala life.
He made his feature film debut in 2015 with Kunjiramayanam, one of the year’s highest-grossing Malayalam films, adapted from short stories he had published on his blog. The film’s success established him as a distinctive voice in contemporary Malayalam cinema. Deepu has since worked on a range of films and series across genres, blending humour, emotion, and grounded social observation. His notable credits include The Priest (co-writer), Padmini, Perilloor Premier League, Guruvayoorambala Nadayil, and additional screenplay work on ARM.
Alongside screenwriting, he is also an author and continues to write short stories and long-form fiction. His work often explores flawed individuals, absurd situations, and the quiet emotional shifts beneath comedy-driven narratives.
