Biography

Sissy Toumasi is a Greek actress born in Athens, with roots in Istanbul. She trained at the Athens Conservatory Drama School and works across film, television, and theatre. She began her screen career in the award-winning film "Miss Violence", which received the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Her theatre work includes a notable performance as Hedvig in Ibsen’s "The Wild Duck", for which she received a Best Actress nomination. In 2019, she won Best Actress at the Drama International Short Film Festival for "The Weight of the Sea". In 2024, she was selected as a Berlinale Talents participant. She is a member of the European Film Academy. Her work focuses on emotionally driven storytelling, with a particular interest in independent cinema, social drama, and thrillers.
