    Maffe began composing at age 14 while growing up in Alaska. He later moved to Los Angeles to study composition at Biola University. In 2017, he interned at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions. In 2020, he earned a Master of Music in Screen Scoring from the University of Southern California as the program’s highest-rated candidate and the recipient of the Sandra and Alan Silvestri Scholarship. During his studies, he was mentored by Academy Award-nominated composer Alan Silvestri.

    Maffe has composed music for more than 100 films, television series, and video games. His credits include work for major franchises such as League of Legends, Call of Duty, Overwatch, Apex Legends, PUBG, Honor of Kings, and Arknights. His film credits include Milk Teeth, Mort., and Wayfarer Studios’ Love You Anyway, which he scored under the mentorship of Emmy-nominated composer Brian Tyler.

    His collaborations have received multiple industry honors. These include a 2024 Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Live Concert for Visual Media and a 2024 G.A.N.G. Award for Best Audio for a Casual Game for Call of Duty: Mobile, for which he contributed music alongside Hans Zimmer.

    In addition to his work for visual media, Maffe has built a substantial catalogue of contemporary concert music, with more than 50 performances worldwide. His works have been commissioned by institutions including the Southern California Brass Consortium, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay, Ensemble PHACE, Anchorage String Quartet, and Biola Symphonic Band.
