  • Based in Toronto, Steph Copeland is an award-winning screen composer, producer and recording artist best known for contemporary drama, thriller and genre film scores. In 2022 and 2023, she took home 3 Canadian Screen Music Awards for best score for a Narrative Feature Film (The Retreat and Outpost) as well as best score for a Television Special (Lethal Love). In 2024 she earned two Canadian Screen Award nominations for Original Song as well as Achievement in Music: Original Score for the feature film Cascade. In August 2023, Copeland worked with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and acclaimed conductor Anton (Tono) Popovic in Bratislava, recording her feature film score for 'Reveillon', a political, family drama on the 1993 separation of Czechoslovakia. Steph began her music journey as a singer-songwriter and electro-pop artist in Windsor and Detroit, performing and touring with fellow artists on both sides of the border. Her original songs have seen placements in series such as Tiny Pretty Things, Snowpiercer, L.A.'s Finest, UnREAL, animated series Mysticons, The Unicorn Academy and more. Commercial works include NBA Canada, Thule, The North Face, Destination Toronto, Pan-Am Games, Bose and National Ballet School of Canada. In addition to composing for the screen and songwriting, Steph occasionally takes on the role of music director. In 2018, she produced and conducted female ensemble performances opening the SOCAN Awards featuring Brett Kissell as well as the TIFF Gala featuring Sarah Slean, Stacey Kay and The Tenors. Steph is a classically trained vocalist with roots at The Royal Conservatory of Music.
