Behzad Azadi

He studied Dramatic Literature at the Art University of Tehran and has written and directed several award-winning short films exploring identity, memory, and exile. His 2015 film Slaughterhouse was selected for the Cinéfondation at the Cannes Film Festival and screened at numerous international festivals, marking a turning point in his career. Facing censorship and political pressure in Iran, Behzad sought asylum in France, where he now lives in exile. He has been selected for prestigious residencies including La Métive (Nouvelle-Aquitaine), the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, and the Cinéfondation.
