Lauri Levenfeld is a Los Angeles-based, award-winning writer-director specializing in psychological horror and dark comedy. As a teen, she found healing in Wiccan ritual and sisterhood after the relentless pressure to be perfect left her with an eating disorder. Those experiences taught her that survival is a shared journey, and that darkness can inspire powerful art. Lauri graduated from USC Film & TV Production as one of only two women cinematographers. Directing a documentary on Nelson Mandela was life-changing and deepened her commitment to storytelling as a vehicle for advocacy. Her award-winning pilot script, MURDER OF THE WOLF, explores multigenerational violence and supernatural retribution from a fiercely female lens, earning recognition at Austin Film Festival, Cinequest, and La Femme.
Inspired by her own gauntlet through Greek life, Lauri's feature screenplay, SWIPE UP, is a Southern Gothic horror and dark comedy (think Heathers) about a deadly sorority competition where viral fame and ritual force five young women to fight for sisterhood and survival in a world obsessed with digital spectacle and endless scroll for belonging. (Sometimes, the only way out of the game is to flip the board, burn the house down, and start a coven.) Her previous work includes VESPERTINE (psychedelic eco-horror, 650K+ views), in which four estranged friends reunite after a desert survival ordeal, weaponize a rare desert flower that bends nature itself, striking the men who have destroyed their lives- but the bloom amplifies their rage and corrodes the sisterhood.
Lauri's storytelling has appeared in Vogue, Fast Company, Time, People, Deadline, and Variety, with collaborations spanning from Robert Redford to Olivia Rodrigo. She founded The Project for Women & Girls, Project Mentor, and Village Queens, building international communities that empower millions of women creatives. As CEO of AgentC, Lauri's thirty-plus microfilms have proven she can move audiences-and move product. Her production company, SHEwolf Entertainment, will launch The Howl podcast in fall 2026, focusing on wild women, creative rituals, and the artistic journey.
