Biography

Deidra Tyree is an Artist and Professor who works between both disciplines of Art and Cinema. Born in Georgia and raised in Oklahoma, Deidra studied film, photography, and dance at the University of Oklahoma (OU). While studying film at OU under the direction of Andy Horton, she was a Production Assistant with Gray Frederickson, a producer known for The Godfather: Part II (1974), Apocalypse Now (1979) and UHF (1989). Later, Deidra relocated to Atlanta and received a double Master of Fine Arts in Photography & Sculpture in 2014. While in graduate school, she produced & directed multiple student, short, and indie films while working as a stylist for advertising, marketing, and television commercial industries. In 2014, Deidra's breakthrough credit was a wardrobe stylist on a TV commercial, then after gaining some experience in the props department, she would then cross over to the camera department. Over the years, Deidra worked between Atlanta and Los Angeles, earning multiple credits within both departments of camera and art. Deidra resides in Atlanta, Georgia and continues creating content while working as the Professor of Art, Photography & Media Design at Clark Atlanta University.
