Biography

Born in Spain and living now in Los Angeles, California, Itziar is a proud member of the Alliance of Women Directors and the Latin Recording Academy.

Itziar was part of the small production team that created the multiplatinum award-winning soundtrack for the Disney Channel series Violetta. Translated into 15 languages, the show became Disney Channel's most successful non-american TV series and it sold more than 1 million records. The European tour alone sold more than 1.2 million tickets for 182 shows performed in 12 countries.

Her acting credits include HBO's upcoming revival of the classic "Calamity Jane", the series "The Mysterious Benedict Society", "Jane The Virgin", "Louie", as well as major productions for the Telemundo network.

Her first feature film as a co-writer/producer, premiered at HBO's NYLFF and received distribution in more than 20 territories, including VOD in North America and in theaters in Turkey and Japan. As a writer/director her short films have screened at many international film festivals such as Screamfest, Filmquest, LAshorts, Academy sponsored NFMLA, and have won several awards like Best New Director at the Toronto International Women's Film Festival.

As of 2025 developing a bilingual horror/fantasy/drama series which has been selected for the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival Showrunners Lab, and the Hollyshorts, Horrorigins, Filmatic and Stage32 Search for New Blood screenwriting contests.

Of Basque origin and having lived in different countries and cities over the years, her life experiences and love for different cultures always find a home in her stories.
