Paavani Atrey is an Indian actress whose work spans film, television, and advertising. Raised in Mumbai, she trained at the New York Film Academy, performing in theatre productions and short films including Street Sam, Sing Along Trees, and Beyond Therapy, before further honing her craft at Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares.
Paavani made her Bollywood debut in Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi (2016). She later voiced a key role in The Hungry, a contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus.
Her breakout moment came with Netflix’s The Fame Game (2022), where she portrayed Ruchika - a performance noted for its emotional truth, quiet intensity, and screen presence. The series brought her significant industry recognition and established her as an emerging talent on the streaming landscape.
She next appeared in Bejoy Nambiar’s Dange (2024), further expanding her range and visibility in the industry.
Beyond acting, Paavani has contributed extensively behind the camera. She has worked in casting with Nandini Shrikent and Karan Mally on major Bollywood and international projects, including Gold (2018), Tumhari Sulu (2017), The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir (2018), and the French series Fais Pas Ci, Fais Pas Ça. She has also served as an assistant director on the Disney+ Hotstar series Kaala.
Paavani has appeared in national advertising campaigns for brands such as NorthEast United F.C. (with John Abraham), Manyavar Mohey (with Anushka Sharma & Virat Kohli), Frooti, Hotstar, Clean & Clear, Hella India, and Kings Oil (with Bhumi Pednekar).
Outside of her professional work, Paavani is passionate about fitness, storytelling, and animal welfare, and is a devoted caregiver to her cats. With her training, versatility, and growing screen presence, she continues to build a distinctive and rising trajectory within the Indian entertainment industry.
