Biography

Jake VanKersen was born and raised in Muskegon, MI. Appropriately, his first job was working at a movie theater. In 2005 he started studying film at Columbia College Chicago and graduated in 2008 with a degree in Film and Video.

After graduation Jake went to work for the Chicago-based company Zacuto. He worked on a few of the Zacuto original programs. Through Zacuto he became associated with Quicklips Production. It was with Quicklips that he produced the web series "Hank Frisco: Galaxy Defender." In addition to producing three episodes he also portrayed Archie the Robot.

Jake has also directed numerous music videos for Chicago-based musicians. He has also written and directed short films.
