Biography

Brendan Wilson is an attorney, a best-selling novelist, award-winning filmmaker, and Hall of Fame martial artist. He is the author of two sci-fi novels in the Mei Ling Lee Trilogy: The Achilles Battle Fleet was released in 2021 by Literate Ape Press. His second novel, Warrior Goddess: Book two in the Mei Ling Lee series, released in 2024 by Elite Publications, was an Amazon international bestseller. Wilson was named the International Impact Book Awards 2025 Author of the Year, and was a finalist for the 2025 American Fiction Award. The third novel in the trilogy is expected in early 2026.

He is the founder of El Oso Diablo Productions, LLC, a filmmaking company. He served as an executive producer and writer for the short film, A Child Lies Here. The film was an official selection at twelve film festivals, where it garnered eight nominations and two awards, including Best Actor (Flagship City Film Festival) and Emerging Filmmaker (Trinity International Film Festival).

Other projects include a T.V comedy series called Greetings! From Prison Greetings! The series was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Series Premise and Outstanding Writing at the LA Webfest VI. The Series also won an IndieFest Film Award of Excellence Web Series.

Doug's Christmas, a short film, won Best Illinois Film at the 2015 Route 66 Film Festival. It was an official selection at the Flathead Lakes, New Jersey, Bare Bones and GI Film Festivals. At Bare Bones it won honorable mention as Best Family/Drama; at New Jersey, it won Honorable mention. It was an official selection at the GI Film Festival in 2014.

Wilson founded Aristos Marital Arts, L.L.C. He holds a 8th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and he won the 2009 Silver Medal in Taekwondo forms at the US Open. In 2022, He was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame. In 2024, he won Grandmaster of the Year award from Action Martial Arts Magazine.

A retired US Army Officer and former U.S. Army Ranger, he is the author of a number of articles on martial arts and military subjects including those on terrorism, military strategy and martial arts. Following his retirement from the US Military, Wilson served as a defense planner and diplomat at NATO. He holds a PhD in International Relations, a JD, an MBA and a BS in economics. In 2025, Wilson was admitted to the California Bar.
