While studying acting and drama at Wright State University in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio. John was active in community theater productions as well. Some of these include George M and Ayn Rand's The Night of January 16. John has also appeared in several music videos with roles in Lose My Mind -Brett Eldridge, We Believe-Newsboys, and Tara Thompson's Someone to Take Your Place to name a few. An avid traveler, John makes it a point to study dialects and character traits in whichever part of the world he may find himself.

- John's family surname was originally "Hitchcock".
