- Landed the role of Jim Reaper in Dog and the Dead Guy after his first week on Shooting Clerks. The director was so impressed with his performance that he offered him the part out right.
- Auditioned for the part of Ernie on Shooting Clerks but was eventually cast as Dave Klein, due to his uncanny resemblance.
- Was one of four members of the Shooting Clerks cast to hail from Manchester, England. Booton, as well as Harry Mitchell, Matthew Postlethwaite and Tom Sullivan took part in an open casting call organized by Surviving Actors. Matthew Swallow also auditioned and landed the part of Ernie O'Donnell only too walk off set during his first day of shooting.
